Path in Spring

Path in Spring
Oil on panel, 10x8
With our recent rains, the grass is greening up all over!  It was very overcast today, with just a brief showing of the sun - a wonderful day to paint.  I'm working the violets against the many shades of greens today, and actually using some viridian on my palette.  I rarely use it, but with the new spring growth I can see the hue in the greens.  It pops wonderfully with the hazy violets. I pulled out the palette knife for a little work on this one, wanting to add a little dimension to the landscape.  I have a busy weekend ahead - I hope I can still find my painting windows!  Painting number 459 in 459 days :)
