This month, I will be participating in the Sunflower Festival in DeSoto, Kansas. The kick-off is a plein air event at the Kill Creek Farm - which is full of history and sunflowers! Growing up in Kansas, this is the official state flower - and a challenge to capture! Today, I am using oils - and pushing the color a bit. The "cads" are having their way with this piece - it is full of cad yellow light, lemon, medium yellow, orange, red and green! All cads! The only one that is not a cad in this painting - prussian blue. This colorful painting is Day 2 of the
