Setting Sun

Oh what a gorgeous day to spend outside!  With temps in the 70s, this kind of day is the reward for those frigid cold days of winter!  I was busy all day preparing for our Easter gathering tomorrow, so when I saw the color rising in the sky, I knew this was my chance!  Using oils on my 6x6 masonite panel, I first mark the shadows as I let that color ripen in the sky.  As soon as I feel it is at peak, I start dropping in the sunlit hues, adjusting where necessary.  I love that sunset dash to get those colors captured - and then it's all over as quickly as it began!  Painting number 3007 in 3007 days.
